The Truth About Getting A Free iPad 2
Everyday, someone, somewhere in the U.S. is getting a free iPad 2. Maybe you’ve heard about it before, and you are very skeptical about it. Your skepticism is justified, since we all agree that giving away a free iPad 2 in exchange of an e-mail address does not look like a very profitable business model. However, while this looks to be what it is on the surface, it goes deeper than that, and this article will show you exactly how it all works, and most importantly, how YOU can get your free iPad 2 too.

Behind the scenes marketing
Why do they give away expensive electronics? How can they afford to do that? Isn’t this all a scam?
These are questions that any sensible person is bound to ask, and the fact that you are still reading this article shows that
- You want a free iPad 2
- You want to know how it works so that you don’t get scammed
Know that you are among the few who take the time to “get it”. Many people are so scared of being scammed that they just give up altogether and never get their free iPad 2. Follow through, and you will get yours!
So, without further ado, here is how it works.
X is an advertising and marketing company. We’ll get back to X later.
A dentist can easily make over $1,000 from a single laser teeth whitening patient. A video rental service knows that for every person that signs up for their service, 3 of his friends sign up too, as they provide an excellent service. A satellite TV company makes $100/month for at least 1 year (as this is the minimum span of time someone can sign up for) for every customer that signs up for their service.
To stay in business (and pay for their expensive cars and hotel bills), these guys need more people to notice them.
Of course, not everyone jumps on a laser teeth whitening session just like that, so the dentist provides a low-fee or even free kit. The video rental service and satellite TV company do the same thing; they offer something for cheap or free.
Remember company X? Well, they then call up X and say that they would like to have more eyeballs on them.
X says okay, and charges the dentist $200 per pair of new eyeballs, the satellite TV company $300 and the video rental service $100. Remember, it’s quite cheap for them considering that they get the money back quite quickly.
X gets paid a lot of money (600 bucks if you do the math!), but it needs to find a way to attract these eyeballs. How is X going to find these people?
By giving away free iPads! People are crazy about this right now (even we are!).
An iPad costs them around 500 bucks. Actually, it costs them less since they buy it in bulk, but just for the sake of simplifying the math and being conservative, let’s keep it at $500. For each free iPad 2 they give away, it’s $500 out of their pocket. But at the same time, it’s $600 they are making.
Net profit of X: $100.
THIS is how it works. You get a free iPad 2, they make money and the advertising guys get more clients. Everyone gains from good business.
Now that you see it’s not “just a scam”, you need to know that not everyone qualifies for a free iPad 2.
Checking if you are eligible
1. You cannot participate if you are under 18 years old
2. Only U.S. residents are allowed to sign up
3. Providing correct information is mandatory; this includes e-mail address and shipping information (you wouldn’t want your free iPad 2 to be delivered somewhere else anyway).
These are the most important requirements, but you can find all of them on this page.
Why bother?
Urm… If you really want to know…
